About John Broekman
John C. Broekman was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Being a native of the Sunshine State has inspired much of who he is today: he is laid-back, curious about the world, and eager to see it all unfold. John graduated from Bishop Kenny High School, a place that set the tone for his drive to learn and stay involved.
Following high school, he moved to Fort Myers, Florida, to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where he earned a degree in Business Management. During this time, he became part of the Kappa Alpha Order (fraternity), his first real introduction to how influential leadership within a community can be.
John returned to Jacksonville after his freshman year at Florida Gulf Coast to join the University of North Florida. He took on a more active role in his fraternity, becoming the third highest-ranking member and heavily involved in philanthropy. Most of the fraternity’s efforts were devoted to raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association by hosting events on campus or at local sports events. They also regularly donated blood to the “Big Red Bus” (Oneblood) every semester to help those in need.
John graduated with honors from the University of North Florida (UNF) in 2020, earning a 3.8 GPA. He majored in Political Science and minored in Business Management. He was also a member of the university’s Economics Society, which helped deepen his understanding of how the world works politically and financially.
John’s work experience is as diverse as it is impressive. He has worked in various environments, including politics, finance, and logistics. These three industries rarely intersect but have helped him develop excellent communication skills.
John has notably worked on local, gubernatorial, and presidential political campaigns. One of his most rewarding experiences was helping organize a campaign rally for President Trump in Jacksonville and meeting him face-to-face!
In the logistics world, John worked at Magellan Logistics, where he was handed a struggling account barely making (50k+) and turned it into a 500K+ account. That growth reflects John’s ability to solve problems and build client trust. He has also worked at TEKsystems and was later promoted to a senior role 3 months after being hired.
Work isn’t everything to John. Some of the best insights into his identity come from his activities outside the office. He’s deeply passionate about electronic dance music (EDM). Since 2012, he’s attended over 100 festivals across the country—from Red Rocks in Colorado to Ultra in Miami. For John, it’s more than just music; it’s a way to connect, unwind, and feel alive.
Staying fit, primarily through regular gym sessions, biking, and simply engaging in physical activity, has also been a major part of his life. When he’s not breaking a sweat, you’ll find him deep in PC gaming sessions, particularly dominating World of Warcraft at competitive levels—or unwinding with a fishing rod in hand or lounging beachside with his crew.
John’s greatest strength is his innate ability to communicate and relate to people, regardless of their background. Having seen it all through his varied political, sales, and team-working backgrounds, he intuitively understands the best way to communicate and connect with whomever he meets.
His adaptability has been crucial to his success across various fields and work cultures. He has the unique ability to be an active listener, observant, and quick adapter, whose value is often greater than formal credentials or grand titles.
Leadership is another cornerstone of John’s professional persona. His initial leadership experiences in the Kappa Alpha Order (fraternity) and progressive work history have transformed him into a pacesetter rather than someone who follows orders.
Currently, John is looking for his next professional opportunity. With a resume spanning politics, finance, and logistics and a history of measurable success, he’s well-positioned to take on new challenges. He’s not confined to one industry; that flexibility gives him a broader perspective on what’s possible.
What stands out most about John is his genuine nature. He’s not trying to be someone he’s not. He’s thoughtful, self-driven, and not afraid to start from the ground up if it means learning something valuable. Whether solving a problem at work, helping raise money for a cause, or biking down the Florida coast, he does it with a clear purpose.
